Geography
Ancient Greece is a land located in the southeast part of Europe near the Nile river and Africa. Today, it is still called Greece. A good effect that the geographic setting had on this civilization was that the Nile River made the land beside it good for farming.A bad effect that the geographic setting had on this civilization is that it had too much mountains that the Ancient Greek Civilization was isolated from the other civilizations. The type of government that the Ancient Greek civilization had was a democratic government. A democratic government is a government where the people vote for the person they think can run their civilization, which is the Ancient Greek Civilization, the best out of everyone. The laws and rules kept the Greeks in order. Around 620 BC, a lawgiver named Draco wrote the first law of Greece. The law he made established exile for a homicide penalty, and it was the only one of Draco's laws that Solon kept when he became a lawgiver. Solon created lots of new laws that fit into the four categories of Greek Law.

Men get to go to school for ages 6 to 14, and start their early responsibilities for ages 14 to 16. They get to command wives and give them permission to do a lot of things.

The role that trade had in ancient Greece was a big part of their civilization. The major trading products were olive oil, wine, food, and even slaves. Items them received were perfumes from Arabia, cheese and pork from Sicily, wheat, barley, glass from Egypt, ivory from Ethiopia, and rugs from Carthage. The location on where ancient Greece was affected their ability to trade because it was hard for the ancient Greeks to get to other civilizations.
It was hard for the Greeks to trade before boats were invented. The reason why it was hard for ancient Greece to trade before boats were invented because they were isolated away from other civilizations because of the mountains. Ancient Greece was isolated from other civilizations because when they had to travel by foot it was hard for them to get through the mountains and it was easier when they had traveled by boat because they could have gone around the mountains.
